Raja Zafar ul Haq of Matore, Rawalpindi descended of the Raja Kala Khan Janjua clan of Rajput. He is the Chairman of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) and he is also Secretary General of the World Muslim Congress since 1992. He has also served as Pakistan's Ambassador to Egypt from 1985, as well as served as Leader of the House (Pakistan Senate). He was a close associate and minister of information and religious affairs of President Zia ul Haq during his reign. He was also member of cabinet of Prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
